Fairfax Academy shortlisted for national inclusion award

Fairfax Academy inclusion award: Fairfax Academy has been shortlisted for the Best Practice in Inclusive Education Award at the Education Business Awards 2026.

The category recognises schools that demonstrate exceptional commitment to promoting inclusiveness in the classroom and creating a positive, supportive learning environment for every student.

This shortlisting follows a year of significant national recognition for the school. Fairfax has been accredited with the Wellbeing Award for Schools, a national standard for positive mental health and emotion wellbeing, recognising its comprehensive pastoral system, which includes Heads of Year, mentors and a strong, inclusive environment.

The Academy also achieved the ADHD Neurodiversity Award last month, celebrating its work to proactively support neurodiverse learners.

Fairfax’s inclusive culture was further recognised by Ofsted in 2024, when the Academy was rated Outstanding for leadership and personal development – demonstrating that students’ social, emotional and mental health needs are exceptionally well met.

Principal Sean Castle said the school is proud to see its values recognised on a national stage.

He said: “Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do, and this nomination is a wonderful recognition of the dedication, compassion and hard work of our staff, students and wider school community.
