The ATLP’s Catering Team has achieved Food for Life Served Here Bronze certification from the Soil Association for serving healthy and sustainable meals across all schools.

Food for Life is part of the Soil Association, is a UK-wide sustainable food and farming charity which aims to protect nature by transforming how people eat and farm. The accreditation highlights the Catering Team’s ongoing efforts to reduce food miles, support local suppliers and ensure pupils and communities have access to nutritious, responsibly sourced meals every day.

Harry Matthews, ATLP’s Head of Facilities & Estates, said: “This nationally recognised award is a huge achievement for us – especially as the team have been in operation for less than three years.

“It recognises our commitment to providing fresh, healthy, and ethically sourced food that’s cooked from scratch and meets strict standards on sustainability, animal welfare, and food quality.”

Food for Life Served Here certified meals are freshly prepared by trained chefs.  All ingredients are free from additives, artificial trans fats and GM ingredients. The meat served can be traced back to the farm and meets or exceeds UK animal welfare standards, eggs are free range, fish is sustainable, and menus make the most of seasonal ingredients – all of which reduces the environmental impact of menus.

Harry added: “It’s a proud moment and a true reflection of the dedication, care, and values that underpin everything our catering team does. I would like to thank the whole ATLP Catering team for working together to ensure our students can access good food every day and for continuing to put children at the heart of all they do.”
