Plantsbrook School Apprenticeship assemblies – can you help?

Plantsbrook School Apprenticeship assemblies – A school in Sutton Coldfield is reaching out to Chamber of Commerce members and local businesses to take part in National Apprenticeship Week.

Plantsbrook School, which is part of the Broadleaf Partnership Trust, is organising face-to-face apprenticeship assemblies each day during the week, which runs from Monday, February 5 to Friday, February 8.

Now the school’s Careers Advisor, Sarah Dullea, is looking for Chamber members who would be willing to take part, and help students understand how apprenticeships work.

She said: “National Apprenticeship Week is a great opportunity to show the variety there is in modern apprenticeships, and it would be fantastic to get external speakers for each of the assemblies we have organised.

“We would be grateful to hear from any Chamber members who might be willing to help.

“They could talk to students about their business, about why they employ apprentices – or even talk about how they were once an apprentice themselves.

“They could even bring along a current apprentice!

“However, if they prefer, I can lead the assembly for them, and perhaps interview them about apprenticeships in front of the students.

“There are lots of ways that they can help. The assemblies run from 8.35am -9am, so they will only need to speak for around 20 minutes – but I know our students will find their knowledge very useful.”

Plantsbrook School Apprenticeship assemblies – slots and year groups available are:

Mon 5th Feb – Year 8

Tues 6th Feb – Year 9

Thurs 7th Feb – Year 11

Fri 8th Feb – Year 7
