The Bishop Vesey Corporate Partnership has helped a talented student from the grammar school win a coveted accountancy apprenticeship.
Harry Slaymaker, who left Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School (BVGS) in the summer was looking for a Career in Accountancy. He has now secured a position on the apprenticeship scheme at Tamworth-based Adams Moore, allowing him to gain valuable experience amid the ongoing disruption of the pandemic.
Having been longstanding supporters of the school through the Bishop Vesey Corporate Partnership, Adams Moore were keen to recruit Harry, entrusting him to support the existing team across a range of tasks and projects.
During his time at BVGS, Harry assisted the Corporate Partnership as one of the development’s interns, familiarising himself with the existing partners, including Adams Moore.
Harry’s success provides an example of how the Corporate Partnership is mutually beneficial for students and partners, allowing businesses to access an untapped pool of talent, with an increasing number of young people taking an apprenticeship route instead of going to university.
