Curdworth Primary School joins the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership

Curdworth Primary and the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership have linked up, with the village school joining the trust’s growing family of academies.

This is the second North Warwickshire school to join the respected multi-academy trust, which also connects academies in Birmingham and Staffordshire. ATLP’s partnership now includes seven primary schools, three secondary schools and one national teaching school.

Curdworth has successfully been working with the ATLP for a number of months and headteacher Lisa Dodd is delighted that the school is the newest member of the partnership.

She said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be part of the ATLP and the opportunities this will afford. We are now part of a close family of schools that share our guiding principle of putting children at the heart of everything we do.

“Curdworth is a happy, thriving learning community. This is the natural progression on our school improvement journey and I am proud to take this next step together. Through close collaboration, mutual support and the sharing of resources and expertise, we can advance further and pass on those advantages to our children and staff.”

Curdworth is Ofsted rated ‘Good’. When inspectors visited last year, they noted how much children enjoy learning, and praised the school’s ‘good quality’ of education, effective leadership and school-to-school collaboration.

ATLP CEO and national leader of education, Richard Gill, said: “What a pleasure to officially welcome Curdworth Primary to our learning family. The school is at the very heart of its community and demonstrates excellence in all that it does – undoubtedly, the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership and Curdworth will benefit immensely from this partnership. Today, we are celebrating the start of a new era and the opportunity to assure our children’s futures – and that’s a rewarding prospect for everybody.”

The Arthur Terry Learning Partnership is based in Four Oaks and operates a number of tight geographical learning hubs. Curdworth Primary is part of the North Warwickshire hub, which also includes the Coleshill School, which has enjoyed significant school improvement since joining the ATLP in 2015.

With five and a half thousand students, more than 900 employees and a turnover of £29 million, the MAT is growing its capacity and reputation for excellence.
